2. Applications:
Ammonium sulphate is an excellent nitrogen fertiliser (commonly known as fertiliser field powder) for general soils and crops, enabling vigorous growth of branches and leaves and improving fruit quality and yield. It can be used as a base fertilizer, fertilizer and seed fertilizer. It can be used as a compound decomposition reaction with salt to produce ammonium chloride, and with aluminium sulphate to produce ammonium alum, and with boric acid to produce refractory materials. It can be added to electroplating solutions to increase electrical conductivity. It is also used as a catalyst for food coloring, a nitrogen source for yeast cultivation in fresh yeast production, a dyeing aid for acid dyes, and a de-ashing agent for leather. In addition, it is used in beer brewing, chemical reagents and battery production. Another important role is the mining of rare earths, mining with ammonium sulphate as a raw material, using ion exchange form of rare earth elements in the mineral soil exchange out, and then collect the leach solution to remove impurities, precipitation, press, burned into the rare earth raw ore, each mining production of 1 ton of rare earth raw ore about 5 tons of ammonium sulphate.
Biological uses are also numerous, mostly in protein purification processes
